The transfer market looks set to be busy for FC Barcelona and one of its key names: Jules Koundé. From England, “CaughtOffside” has revealed that Chelsea is preparing a major offensive to secure the services of the French defender next summer.
The situation isn’t simple, but it isn’t impossible either. At Barça they are clear about it: Koundé is not for sale, but he isn’t untouchable either.
Chelsea returns to the charge
It isn’t the first time that Chelsea has been interested in Koundé. Back in 2022, when the center-back was playing for Sevilla, the London side was very close to completing his signing. However, Barça’s late move, led at the time by Xavi Hernández, changed the course of the operation.
The coach from Egar was key to convincing the player, who ended up betting on the Barça project. Now, three years later, Chelsea is trying again and it’s doing so strongly.
A performance that raises doubts
Despite having recently renewed his contract until 2030, Jules Koundé’s season has raised some doubts in the blaugrana environment. His performance has dropped compared to previous campaigns, something that hasn’t gone unnoticed in the offices at Camp Nou.
In this context, “Madrid-Barcelona” has learned that the club doesn’t rule out a sale if a convincing offer arrives. It isn’t a departure that is being actively pursued, but it is being considered in the event of receiving an offer that is well above market value.
The price: 80 million euros
Barça’s stance is firm: it will only sit down to negotiate for a significant fee. That amount is already defined. An offer close to 80 million euros could be enough to open the door to his departure.

Chelsea, with the financial capacity to handle operations of this magnitude, appears as one of the main candidates to launch that offensive. In addition, Koundé’s profile fits perfectly in the Premier League: physical, fast, and with good ball distribution.
